State Championship Finals March 8-9

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The CIF State Basketball Championships are Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, at the Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, with tip-off set for 10:00 a.m. each day. Twenty-four teams will compete for 12 State titles. A complete schedule follows.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Golden 1 Center Box Office. Ticket prices per day start at $16 for adults and $10 for seniors (65+), children (2+), and high school students with a valid ASB card.

Spectrum Networks will broadcast all Championship games LIVE, including nine games on Spectrum SportsNet, two games on the Spectrum SportsNet overflow channel, and one game on Spectrum News 1. Please check your local listings. (In Northern California, NFHS Network will also carry all games).

The Harvard-Westlake (4-1) boys return to the Open Division to defend their 2023, while Salesian College Prep (2-1) arrives at the State Championships for the first time since their 2012 DIV Championship win. In Division I, San Ramon Valley (1-2) looks to claim another crown after their lone win in 2015, while St. John Bosco (1-0) looks to add another title after their 2014 DII win. In Division II, Oakland Tech (0-2) is searching for their first State Championship after back-to-back appearances in 2002-03 (DI). Division III features Santa Cruz (1-0) and Alemany (1-0) each with their own DIII Championship in 2005 and 2012 respectively.

In the girls' action, it’s an Open Division rematch from last year with Archbishop Mitty (6-8) returning to the Open for the third consecutive year, still looking for their first crown in the division, claiming their last State title in 2015 (DII), while Etiwanda (1-0) hopes to repeat as Open Champions. The Division I game features Bishop O’Dowd (3-2) as they return after a 2019 DI loss, while Bishop Montgomery (6-1) returns to the State Championships for the first time since 2003. In the Division II game, Harvard-Westlake (1-1) arrives at the State Championships for the first time after their lone crown in 2010, while Colfax (2-2) returns to Sacramento to avenge their loss in the DIII title game last year. Caruthers (1-0) returns to the State Championships, this time in Division III after winning the DV crown in 2019. Additionally, in Division V Oakland (1-0) returns to the State Championships after a Division III title in 2019.

Nine teams are making their first State Championship appearance including Athenian (B DV), Centennial, Bakersfield (B DII), Chatsworth (B DIV), Granada Hills Charter (G DIII), Grossmont (G DIV), Monterey (B DIV), Montgomery (G DV), St. Bernard's (G DIV), Verdugo Hills (B DV).
