44th CIF State Girls Volleyball Championship Finals
at Santiago Canyon College, Orange – Friday-Saturday, November 18-19
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The top California high school teams in each division will compete for the State title during the 44th CIF State Girls Volleyball Championships Friday-Saturday, November 18-19, on the campus of Santiago Canyon College, Orange.
This year’s event features five teams with previous State Championship history, while Palos Verdes (DI), Clovis North (DII), Chaminade (DII), Archie Williams (DIII), Buckley (DIII), Berean Christian (DV), and Victory Christian Academy (DV), are all making their first appearances, to make up the 12 teams in the 44th year of the State tournament.
In the sixth year of the Open Division, Cathedral Catholic (5-1) returns to the State Championships after winning the Division II crown in 2016, while Saint Francis, Mountain View (9-3) returns for the first time since 2010 after winning the Division II Championship. Branson (5-2) returns to the State Championships, this time as a Division I contender after seven straight appearances in Division V from 2009-15. In the Division IV match Ripon Christian (1-0) looks to remain undefeated after a lone Division V win in 1999, while Central Valley Christian (0-2) is looking for their first Championship after losing the Division III Final in 2013.
